What are Planned Patch Repairs?
Planned patch repairs are used to repair larger areas of localised deterioration before defects become more extensive.
Damaged sections of carriageway are removed and replaced with new asphalt to restore the integrity of the road surface.
A rolling programme of works, shown below, is updated on a regular basis. All dates are provisional and subject to change.
Why do we patch repairs?
Not every road requires full resurfacing.
Planned patch repairs allow us to target the specific areas that need attention, helping maximise the value obtained from highway maintenance funding.
Benefits
- Tackles deteriorated sections of road.
- Extends the overall life of the carriageway.
- Helps prevent potholes from developing.
- More cost-effective than resurfacing entire roads where not required.
